Meet Stephanie

Stephanie's approachable and empathetic nature shines through her years of experience as a first responder before transitioning into mental health counselling. She’s passionate about supporting individuals in high-stress careers like public safety, shift work, and highly demanding roles—helping them navigate the challenges of their work and personal lives. Stephanie’s background as a public safety professional and hospice volunteer has given her deep insight into the value of having a safe space to process grief, loss, trauma, and the emotional toll that comes along with it. With expertise in trauma recovery and emotional regulation, Stephanie is dedicated to guiding you through your healing journey, offering both support and practical strategies to help you grow.

Envision your sessions with Stephanie as settling into a conversation that feels like chatting with a trusted friend—comforting, genuine, and full of energy. Her sessions are a balance of heartfelt understanding and productive dialogue, ensuring even the toughest discussions are welcomed with open arms. Stephanie’s belief in the healing power of laughter often brings a light-heartedness to her practice, making it easier to face life's hurdles. Her upbeat, warm demeanour and genuine interest in your progress will have you looking forward to each session, embracing therapy not just as a way to tackle difficulties, but as an opportunity to grow, laugh, and move forward with fresh perspective.

Outside of her professional world, Stephanie enjoys the simple joys of spending time with her niece, often delving into tales of strong and adventurous Disney princesses. When she's not lost in a book club bestseller, Stephanie is expanding her knowledge through literature courses, striving to incorporate diverse reading materials into therapy to offer new perspectives and foster growth. Despite her love for solitary reading moments, Stephanie thrives on connection and cherishes the art of sharing a meal with good company, a motto she lives by: “Never turn down an invite to share a meal with good people.” Through these activities, she finds ways to integrate her passions into her practice, creating a well-rounded and deeply human approach to therapy.

Q&A

What is your favourite thing to do on a Sunday afternoon?
On a perfect sunny Sunday afternoon, you’ll find me reading a New York Times bestseller while looking out at a great view. I’ll give you some examples. I loved Lessons in Chemistry, The Collected Regrets of Clover, and The Last Love Note. I’d wrap the day up with family enjoying a great meal and conversation with the crickets chirping in the background.
If you were stranded on an island, what three things would take with you?
I’m bringing my Kobo loaded with books, my rescue cat Monkey for entertainment and a fuzzy blanket. I figure the blanket is multipurpose: warmth, shade and some cozy comfort.
What's your favourite guilty pleasure song?
