Dr. Vinita Puri is a Registered Social Worker and Accredited Family Mediator with a PhD in Psychology and over a decade of experience supporting individuals, families, and groups. With additional expertise in Ayurvedic Digestion and Nutrition, Criminological Research, and Social Work, she brings a holistic and culturally informed approach to therapy. Vinita specializes in helping clients navigate trauma, cross-cultural challenges, relationship difficulties, and personal growth. She integrates principles of Ayurveda and Yoga to foster resilience and self-discovery.

Therapy with Vinita is warm, conversational, and tailored to your needs. She creates a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can explore emotions, build effective coping strategies, and improve communication skills. Whether you’re working through life transitions, healing from past experiences, or striving for deeper self-connection, Vinita helps you feel seen, heard, and empowered to make meaningful changes.

Beyond therapy, Vinita is passionate about wellness, self-care, and cultural exploration. She enjoys practicing yoga, experimenting with Ayurvedic cooking, and spending time with loved ones. Dr. Vinita provides counselling support in English and offers services in Ontario and British Columbia.

What's something unique about you?
I was Crowned Ms. Canada World Universal Elite in 2021/2022. I have used this platform to raise awareness of women’s rights issues globally. I was recognized by the United Nations Diplomatic Mission for Global Peace and am proud to be a Goodwill Ambassador.
If you could change professions for one day, what would you choose?
I have always dreamed of becomming a Psychology Professor! I am currently an Adjunct Psycholoy Professor but would like to move into a Tenure-Track stream. Although I love counselling, coaching and consulting, my true passion is teaching!
What do you do to take care of your own mental health?
I indulge in self care strategies that nourish my mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health. As a holistic practitioner who has been trained in Ayurveda and Yoga, I am passionate about engaging in daily mindfulness based strategies.
