As a neurodivergent person, you may often find yourself facing challenges that leave you feeling overwhelmed. Over time, it is common to develop symptoms of burnout purely from attempting to live in a way that appears “normal”. This can make functioning difficult in your everyday life, which in turn keep you from achieving your goals and desires. You may find yourself asking why you cannot do a task that another may find easy, or why the bright lights and grating sounds of your workplace do not bother anyone else but you. Encountering these situations repeatedly can lead to apprehension, fear, low self-esteem and even loneliness. Michelle understands the complexities of attempting to navigate these challenges and the outer and inner judgment one might feel around them. Michelle provides a nonjudgmental space dedicated to living authentically, in a way that is adapted to you and your unique needs. Her goal as a practitioner is to help you feel empowered to identify and advocate for your needs, and together, you can develop sustainable strategies that allow you to function to the best of your ability, no matter what that may look like for you.
Outside of sessions, Michelle can be found tackling a new challenge in a video game or adventuring her way through a fantasy novel. Exploring a person’s world and their story has always been a passion of hers, and it forms the core of her approach in practice. Michelle believes in the humanity found within each story and in the inherent strength of life experiences that each person brings towards any challenge they face in life.
