Kursten works with adults who experience uncertainty, self-doubt, anxiety, and hopelessness. She can help you gain insight into your experiences and live with meaning and purpose. Kursten will support you to identify your sources of pain and distress. She’ll assist you to develop strategies to manage negative self-talk and ease challenges or stressors.
Kursten offers a calm, judgment-free space where you can discover what’s important to you and make sense of difficult experiences. She can help you explore your feelings, your beliefs about what happened, and how you were (or weren’t) supported in a traumatic experience. Kursten is genuinely interested in helping you identify your strengths, develop resilience, and create change in your life.
Kursten has 10 years of experience in medical clinics, mental health programs, employee assistance programs, and internet-delivered therapy. Many of the skills and perspectives she shares with you are ones that have helped her in her own life. She’ll help you develop your own skills and strategies so that you are confident in your ability to succeed. Kursten believes that learning and change are lifelong. She puts this idea into practice through continuous learning, self-compassion, and remembering that life is a journey, not a destination.
Kursten enjoys spending time with her family and their cat. When she isn’t catching up on her to-do list, you can find her enjoying music, her partner’s cooking, practicing piano, or trying out art projects from Instagram. She also enjoys listening to podcasts and watching shows while exercising on the treadmill. Other times, you may find her sitting and staring out the window because doing ‘nothing’ is sometimes exactly what we need.
