Meet Fanny

Fanny is passionate about helping individuals, couples and families navigate relationship challenges, parenting struggles, anxiety, stress, and trauma. As a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (EFT), she specializes in couple counseling, helping partners break free from negative communication cycles, rebuild trust, and restore emotional closeness. She recognizes how cultural values, family expectations, and past wounds can deeply influence both relationships and mental health. With over 19 years of experience in mental health—working in family service centers, high schools, and private practice—Fanny has guided clients through difficult life transitions and complex family dynamics.

As a Chinese immigrant, Fanny understands the challenges of adjusting to a new culture, balancing family expectations, and navigating intergenerational differences. She is committed to supporting individuals and families through identity struggles, relationship conflicts, and parenting stress. Drawing from both her professional expertise and personal experience as a mother of two—including a child with ADHD—she helps parents build stronger connections, set healthy boundaries, and manage stress with confidence.

In sessions, Fanny is warm, empathetic, and culturally sensitive. She tailors her approach to help you explore emotions, heal from past wounds, and foster deeper connections in your relationships. Whether you’re struggling with marital difficulties, parenting challenges, stress, anxiety, or unresolved trauma, Fanny works alongside you to create meaningful, lasting change.

Outside of work, Fanny enjoys spending time with her partner and children through outdoor adventures like hiking, biking, camping, and skiing. She also treasures quiet moments with a good book, coffee, and desserts, and finds joy in baking for her loved ones. Valuing work-life balance, she is dedicated to helping others foster healthier relationships and find greater harmony in their personal and family lives.

Q&A

What is your favourite thing to do on a Sunday afternoon?
I love enjoying a cup of coffee while immersing myself in nature. It’s my way of recharging for the week ahead.
If you could time travel to any moment in history, when and where would you go?
I would travel back to spend time with my elderly father in his later years, cherishing the chances to have heartfelt conversations.
What's something unique about you?
I spent two wonderful years living in Victoria, British Columbia, where I developed a deep connection with the sea and nature. During this time, I enjoyed crabbing, clamming, hiking and camping with family and friends.
