Psychotherapists, we're celebrating you this month! In honour of all you do for others' mental health, we're creating a virtual space for you to put yours to the forefront! Why? Because you deserve to feel like your best self too. And hey, if you're not a Psychotherapist but looking for some TLC, this space is for you too! There's no doubt your job is rewarding, but we know all too well the toll it can take on your mental health, so we welcome you to join our free, 45-minute virtual yoga class on April 11 @ 7PM EST to breathe, relax and unwind, together. This virtual class will be led by Samantha Carpino, owner of Welcome Om Collective and lululemon Ambassador! Samantha is a long-time yogi and will offer the much-needed mindful moments we often neglect, yet need to nurture our wellness. Register below to save your spot!
During this workshop, you will be guided through an interactive activity (one we learned through the queen herself, Brené Brown!), facilitated by Shift therapist, Amreeta Kaur. Through this guided practice you will develop a deeper connection with your intuition and learn how to trust it when it comes to decision-making and problem-solving. By the end of this workshop, you will leave feeling confident in following your intuition, trusting it as a valuable tool in your personal and professional life. Please come to the workshop with something to write with and/or write on. PS. whether you're someone who loves to share in an open-discussion format or prefers to remain quiet, soaking in the info- we're here for it all! Show up as you are and remember video on or off is always your choice too.
Do you often let your negative emotions override your positive emotions? Are negative emotions affecting your day-to-day life? If you answered “yes” to these questions, this webinar is for you! Finding emotional balance isn’t easy, but it's important to acknowledge your positive emotions so you can start to find more fulfilment in your life. Through the lens of positive psychology, Shift therapist Hiba Hamed will discuss the strategies, resources and activities available to you so you can begin to feel confident in how to nurture your emotions, and by extension, mental wellness.
Although journaling has been around for decades, it has rarely been reviewed through the lens of mental health. In this webinar delivered by Shift Psychotherapist Interns Louisa Larocque and Eden Jacobson, you will learn how journaling is a meditative and extremely versatile tool for one’s mental health and wellness. Journaling comes in many forms and serves multiple purposes. Whether you’re artistic, organized, minimalistic, or analytical, there is something to write about for everyone! Eden & Louisa will also discuss various types of journaling, including the research demonstrating its effects on our mental health and its connection with art therapy. Suggestions for quick or “low maintenance” journaling and recommendations for existing resources will be provided. Additionally, the webinar will end with a guided journaling exercise that is tailorable to all your needs and quirks. Please come to this webinar prepared with writing materials.
Do you have a loved one in your life that identifies as transgender, non-binary, or genderqueer? Are you seeking direction on how to show your support for their journey? If you answered “yes”, this webinar is for you! Gender-diverse persons might navigate challenges including self-doubt, isolation, misgendering, transphobia, and challenging family dynamics. Through their personal and professional experiences in supporting gender-diverse individuals, Shift therapist Martha Segovia Calles (she/her) and Shift Psychotherapist Intern Joyce Deng (they/them) will discuss how to introduce inclusive language, support gender diversity, and better understand the care loved ones need on their journey.
Do you struggle with critical self-talk? Are you noticing that your low self-esteem is impacting other areas of your life, such as work or social outings? Perhaps you view yourself, others, and the world through a negative lens. Well, you’re not alone! In fact, low self-esteem impacts a significant amount of people and it raises the question, “how can I build my self-esteem?”. In this webinar delivered by Shift therapists Elena Karamanova and Ayesha Hussain, you will explore how to hold space for self-love and compassion.
